Klezmer-Brunch: Klezmart (Germany)

Sunday March 18th / 11am
Kulturforum Kleiner Saal

Swinging Klezmer

Klezmart's sounds are like the old American Klezmer combos back in the 30s - back in the days when the phonograph scraped the shellac. The band from Dresden plays in the established formation of violin, clarinet, accordeon, bass and percussion – and captures the magic of a long forgotten time. The title of their last CD fits just perfectly to Klezmart's vibe: "And where were you during Prohibition?". It is hard to sit still when Horach follows Freylekh, waltz and tango – all accompanied by the powerful Eastern European rhythms of former times.
